1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with the website helloprokhorov.com (the “website”): what is collected, why, who receives it, how long it is kept and what rights you have. Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to that processing, this policy is written to provide the information it requires.
2. Who Is Responsible
The controller responsible for personal data processed in connection with this website is:
Artem Prokhorov, an independent web designer and developer working under the name Prokhorov®
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Email: contact@helloprokhorov.com
For any question about this policy or your personal data, write to the same address.
3. In Short
- The website has no advertising and no social media pixels or embeds. It uses analytics (Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica) only if you accept them; until you do, it sets no cookies and loads nothing from them.
- Visiting a page means the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address.
- Personal data reaches me when you contact me — by email or through the project form — and, if you accept analytics, as statistics about your visit.
- I use that data to reply to you and, if we work together, to carry out the project. I do not sell it or use it for marketing lists.
4. Personal Data and How It Is Used
4.1 Visiting the Website
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. When you open a page, your browser connects to GitHub’s servers, which necessarily process technical data to deliver it, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time of the request and information your browser sends (for example its type). GitHub states that it logs and stores the IP address of visitors to GitHub Pages sites for security purposes. I do not have access to these logs and do not use them to identify visitors.
Fonts, images and scripts are served from the website itself. Nothing is loaded from third‑party servers while you browse it, unless you accept analytics (see 4.5).
4.2 Contacting Me by Email
If you write to contact@helloprokhorov.com, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message and anything you attach, along with the technical information that accompanies every email. My email is provided by Google through Google Workspace.
4.3 The Project Form
The Get in Touch page has a form that asks about a project. It can contain:
- whether you already have a website;
- the kind of help you need and the type of website;
- when you would like to start and your budget range;
- a description of the project and any links you add;
- your name and email address;
- your company or website, if you choose to give it;
- confirmation that you have read this Privacy Policy.
When you press send, your answers are transmitted to Web3Forms, a form delivery service, which forwards them to my email inbox. Your email address is set as the reply address, so I can answer you directly. From then on they are handled as described in 4.2. Nothing is sent before you press send.
4.4 Storage in Your Browser
The website itself sets no cookies; analytics cookies are set only if you accept them (see 4.5). It keeps a few small values in your browser’s own storage so that some features work as intended:
- Session storage (deleted when you close the tab): whether the opening animation has already played (“pk-seen”) and the state of transitions between pages (“pk-pt”, “pk-grow”).
- Local storage (kept until you clear your browser’s site data): the hidden game in the footer saves your best score and wave, the sound setting, whether you have found the secret, and a random number that names your pilot (“pk-invader”); and your answer to the analytics question (“pk-consent”), so that you are not asked again on every page.
These values contain no personal details. They are never sent to me or to anyone else and are not used for tracking or analytics. If you copy the email address (or, should the form be unable to send, your form answers), they are placed on your device’s clipboard only when you press the button.
4.5 Analytics
When you first visit, a small notice asks whether I may use analytics cookies. Only if you press Accept does the website load:
- Google Analytics 4, by Google. It sets cookies (“_ga” and “_ga_” followed by an ID) that are kept for up to two years.
- Yandex Metrica, by Yandex. It sets cookies (“_ym_uid”, “_ym_d” and other cookies starting with “_ym”) that are kept for up to one year. Session recording (Webvisor) is turned off: your visit is not recorded or replayed.
These services receive technical data about your visit: the pages you open and how long you stay, the links and parts of the page you click, the site that sent you, your approximate location (country and city), your device, browser, operating system and screen size, and your IP address, which they use to estimate location. I see this only as statistics; I use it to understand which pages are read and to improve the website, not to identify you. Your form answers are never sent to them.
If you press Decline, or make no choice, nothing is loaded. You can change your answer at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies are deleted.
I also use Google Search Console and Ahrefs Webmaster Tools to see how the website appears in search results and to check it for technical problems. They are verified through the domain and add nothing to the pages, so they collect no data from your visit.
4.6 Links to Other Services
The website links to my profiles on LinkedIn, Contra, X, Instagram, Telegram and Kwork, and to the AI assistants ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, which open with a question about me already written. These are links, not embeds: nothing is loaded from those services until you follow one. When you do, your browser may tell the other site which page you came from, and that service’s own privacy policy applies to what happens there.
5. Purposes and Legal Bases
Where the GDPR applies, personal data is processed on these legal bases:
- Analytics — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by pressing Accept; storing and reading the analytics cookies on your device also relies on that consent.
- Delivering the website and keeping it secure — legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a website that works and is protected against misuse.
- Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); for messages unrelated to a project, legitimate interests in answering the people who write to me (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Carrying out a project we agree on — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Keeping records I am legally required to keep, such as for accounting or tax — compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)), where such an obligation applies.
Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you can object to it at any time (see section 9). The checkbox in the project form confirms that you have read this policy; it is not a request for consent to anything else. You can withdraw your consent to analytics at any time, with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page, without affecting processing that took place before.
You are not required to provide personal data, but without your contact details I cannot reply to you. I do not use automated decision‑making or profiling.
6. Who Receives Your Data
I do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. It is processed by these service providers on my behalf:
- GitHub, Inc. — hosting of the website (GitHub Pages). GitHub General Privacy Statement
- Web3Forms — delivery of the project form to my email. Web3Forms Privacy Policy
- Google — website analytics (Google Analytics 4), if you accept it. Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from sites that use its services
- Yandex — website analytics (Yandex Metrica), if you accept it. Yandex Privacy Policy · Yandex Metrica Terms of Use
- Google — email (Google Workspace). Google Privacy Policy · Cloud Data Processing Addendum
Personal data may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
7. International Transfers
I am based in Kyrgyzstan, and the service providers above may process data in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this means your personal data is transferred to countries outside them, which may not offer the same level of data protection as your own.
When you send me an email or the project form, it reaches me in Kyrgyzstan so that I can reply to your request and, if we agree on a project, carry it out. GitHub states that it relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses for such transfers and is certified under the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Google describes the safeguards it uses in its Cloud Data Processing Addendum and is also certified under the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework for Google Analytics.
If you accept analytics, data about your visit is also sent to Yandex and processed in Russia. The European Commission has not found that Russia offers an adequate level of data protection, and no other safeguard applies, so this transfer relies on your explicit consent (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). The risk is that data held in Russia may not be protected as it would be in the EU, including against access by public authorities, and that you may have fewer ways to enforce your rights there. If you do not want this, press Decline; the website works the same either way. You can ask me for more information about these transfers at the address in section 2.
8. How Long Data Is Kept
- Hosting logs are kept by GitHub for the period it determines; I have no access to them.
- Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to reply and follow up. If no project follows, I delete them once they are no longer needed for that purpose.
- Project correspondence and records are kept for the duration of the work and afterwards for as long as required by law, such as for accounting, or as needed to deal with possible claims.
- Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months and by Yandex Metrica for the period Yandex sets for its service; the cookies on your device expire as described in 4.5, or are deleted when you withdraw consent.
- Browser storage stays on your device: session values until you close the tab, the game save and your analytics choice until you clear your browser’s site data.
9. Your Rights
Where the GDPR applies, you have the right to:
- access the personal data I hold about you and receive a copy;
- rectification of data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- erasure of your data, where there is no reason to keep it;
- restriction of processing, for example while the accuracy of the data is checked;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- data portability — to receive the data you provided in a structured, commonly used format, where processing is based on a contract or consent and carried out by automated means;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent — for analytics, with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page;
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work or where you believe your rights were infringed.
To use any of these rights, email contact@helloprokhorov.com. I will reply within one month. I may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so that your data is not given to someone else.
10. Security
The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the information you send is kept in my email account, to which only I have access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take reasonable care to protect the personal data I hold.
11. Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal data, please contact me and I will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy describes the website as it currently works. If that changes — for example if another analytics service is added or the project form moves to another service — I will update the policy before the change takes effect and revise the date above. The current version is always available on this website.
